Diamond Head Jog or Walk
One of the reasons I Love Honolulu

Diamond Head
One of the reasons I Love Honolulu!
Loop: 4.65 miles or 7.48 kilometers
Start & finish: Path behind the wave riding surfer dude statue

Diamond Head

The most enduring symbol of Honolulu. Seen in the background of millions of visitor photos, it rekindles memories of fun filled holidays.

For returning locals, sighting Diamond Head from a 747 windows, quickly infuses a warm, "I am home again" feeling.

DiamondHeadView

The Diamond Head Road lookout offers a pleasant view, while the mauka side allows a glimpse into two local neighborhoods, both a mountain away from the Kalakaua strip.

Diamond Head Lighthouse

An early morning, presunrise view. The breaking sunlight finds joggers running up the road as
surfers head down the cliffs.

As you round Diamond Head and go past Triangle Park, if you are attentive, just past Paikau Street, you may catch sight of a native Hawaiian HIARNG or its flying cousin, the HIANG. While their indigenous nests are nearby, some have been spotted as far away as the Middle East.
There is a water font on Diamond Head Road at the entrance to the Surfer Path and also on the far end of Triangle Park.
