We live in Waikiki, just a mile from the neighborhood where President Obama grew up. Because of this, we have visited the places he lived, the schools he attended and the places he played as a teen. Living nearby, we have some familiarity and insights into his youth that others who have not been to Hawaii may lack.
For this reason, we are devoting part of our I Love Honolulu website to President Obama's Hawaii Roots.
We’re calling it Barry’s Hawaii, because President Obama used the nickname Barry during his years in Honolulu. We have shot pictures of the places Barry lived, the streets he traveled and the places he went.
We will continue to do this. We hope you enjoy Barry’s Hawaii and also learn a little more about our President.
